Born in the Bronx, New York in 1994, to Ralph and Anna Paternoster, Giancarlo Paternoster was raised in Scarsdale, NY. Giancarlo graduated from Scarsdale High School in Scarsdale, New York in 2012. While in high school, Giancarlo's engineering mindset and love for mountain bicycles inspired him to design and build a better bicycle. He studied and modeled various existing suspension systems and mass transfer characteristics in order to design and create a more effective mountain bicycle. Through his high school's science research program, Giancarlo won various science and engineering competitions at the regional and state level for his research in bicycle suspension dynamics. Throughout high school, Giancarlo worked as a suspension analyst on the research and development team for Morpheus Bicycles of the Bronx, New York during the company's infancy. He went on to study mechanical engineering at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania spending summers working on the shop floor of Bronx Metal Works, one of the most comprehensive and specialized metal working shops in New York. With his engineering background and passion for creation, Giancarlo launched a furniture company to showcase his passion.
